OUR DESTINATIONS - IBIZA

Ibiza is the most western island of the Balearic archipelago. Its extension is limited by the Falco cape in the south, the Pl'a d'en Serra to the north, the Jueu cape to the west, and the Campanitx cape to the east. Its surface comprises 572 square kilometers, being the third most extense Balearic island. Its coastline extends accross 210 kilometers and the largest distances are 41 kilometers from north to south and 20 kilometers from east to west. Accross the coast, there are hills and sandy shores and about 56 catalogued beaches, some of which can only be acceded to via a boat. The two most prominent accidents across the coast are the Portmany bay in the west, an the Eivissa bay in the east, where, as a protection form the strong winds, is located the main port of the island and the capital (Vila) is to be found. We also can enjoy spots of a unique landscape like the area of Es Amunts to the northwest, the cliffs of Sant Miquel, or Mala Costa in Sant Joan, to the north of the island.

Due to its geographical location, the island enjoys a Mediterranean climate with dry summers without strong heats, and soft winters, thanks to the proximity to Africa, with an average maximun temperature of 21.5 degrees centigrades and a minimum of 14 degrees throughout the year. One noteworthy feature of this climate is the small difference in temperature between day and night, as well as among the seasons.

On december 4th, 1999, UNESCO awarded Ibiza Human Heritage, acknowledging the universal dimension of some of the natural and historical values that have pervaded during centuries the Pitiusas islands. Authenticity, technical proficiency, exceptionality, and an outstanding state of conservation, have been acknowledged by the UNESCO. Among the elements most highly rewarded has been its acute sense of preservation. It is indispensable that the richness of a heritage that makes their inhabitants proud maintains its radiance for all those that want to know it.

The fortified city of Dalt Vila, the Phoenician site of sa Caleta, the Punic necropolis of Puig des Molins and the Natural Reservoir of ses Salines, all of them declared World Heritage, give shape to the living memory of an island that faces the future with optimism and the calmness of the international recognition of its cultural and natural values. In Ibiza we can find first-class theater representations, poetry readings, and countless exhibitions that occur during each season in the diverse musea and private collections hosted by the different localities of the island. The Jazz Festival taking place every year in the pitiusa capital remains a paradigm of cultural and ludic diversification.

Ibiza is worldwide known for its parties. Another major attractive are the sunsets. People celebrate the sundown at the beach to the relaxing rhythms offered by the best djs. But the island's biggest secret are the sunsets that can only be experienced from the sea on board of your boat.
